2022 STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK

May 2-6 is National School Staff Appreciation Week.  It is a time to honor the individuals - from grade level teachers to instructional coaches to the Specials team and beyond - who lend their passion and skills to educating our children.

At the bottom of this page, you will find a list of the dozens of talented staff members at E.L. Haynes.  We hope you will take a few moments to send them a message of thanks for all they do.

Here is the plan for the week:

Sunday, May 1 - Chalk Party!

From 3-5pm, we will meet at the school (4501 Kansas Ave.) with sidewalk chalk to leave messages of appreciation to welcome staff back on Monday morning.  If you are unable to join us Sunday afternoon, feel free to come by anytime over the weekend to help decorate the sidewalks.  We just ask that messages are left in a place that will easily be washed away by rain (like, not on the school building).

 

Monday, May 2

Show your teachers thanks by writing a note or drawing them a picture.

 

Tuesday, May 3

Thank the Specials team! Show Mr. Byrd, Ms. Deaunna, Mr. Khanh and Ms. Maria some love with a note or picture (or a song or a dance!) .

 

Wednesday, May 4 - Appreciation Breakfast

We will be hosting an appreciation breakfast with bagels, pastries, and other goodies for all staff. (*If you are interested in helping to set up the breakfast, please email elhaynesfamilies@gmail.com*).

 

Thursday, May 5

Thank an aftercare teacher!  Send some shine to the crew that spends time with our kiddos outside of school hours.

 

Friday, May 6

Let’s finish out the week by thinking of the rest of our school’s fabulous staff.  If there’s another member of the staff who has a special connection with your child, send them your appreciation.
